Reunion - sort of.
Jun. 20th, 2004 04:10 amThis place is getting halfway civilised! I'd finished at the dojo, for the day, so I thought I'd take a swim. It's tricky for me to swim in the sea, I've got too big a bone to meat ratio, when I'm healthy, I sink - but I'm too bouyant now.
I was starting down the cliff path when I saw a portal open on the beach. I guessed it was Faith when she ran a few steps but stayed on her feet. She was wearing narlizard, too, you can't mistake that gleam.
I haven't had a chance to find out how she likes the old training grounds yet, She's been away for most of a Diran year and I thought the first thing she'd want was a human male - near equivalent, anyway. We hit the Bronze first - and that was as dull as a wet Sunday in Gwent - so we went to the Fish Tank.
Things are ... stirred up. Everyone was talking. There's a crazy new blood-sucker. That shouldn't affect me much, unless there's a bounty. My blood is C-neg, of course, and most of them really don't like that. I've heard that it hits them like battery acid.
Most of the talk was that there's a demon prince about to rise and he's got a fortune stashed to smooth his way. Everybody wants it. They've got the usual puzzles and signs to work out where he'll be - but they were talking about the soldiers again, too. They're getting very active. I'm not sure if I'd want to go after treasure if some kind of Humans' Scourge is after it too. I think try to find out what the Boss thinks, or even that Minion guy.
